Find Ancestors

I am trying to locate any living family relating to Edna Mabel Ironmonger c.1910 in Derbyshire (possibly Shardlow). I believe she had 2 sisters - Norma and Mildred. Mildred had 3 children - Janet, Graham and Norma.

I believe Edna Mabel may have had a daughter, called Jacqueline c.1935 but I am unaware if Edna married, had anymore childern or have anymore details.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - especially Jacqueline or Edna Mabel.

I have already looked into a marriage between Edna Ironmonger & a Thomas Neill in 1935, but unfortunately her middle name was Esther instead of Mabel.

My father was adopted and his birth mother was Edna Mabel. I am also trying to find out if she married after having my father and if she went on to have a family.

Hi there, my father was born in 1932 - John Michael Ironmonger.

I do know Duncan on here & have in the past been in contact with his partner. His partner's grandmother is a relative of my grandmother. However, I have not heard from her since 2007, so not sure if they are members anymore.

Yes, she was born in July 1910...Father's name Samuel, Mother's name Elsie Mabel...

Did you know that your dad's birth says IRONMONGER OR DAVIS
for the mother's maiden name ?


It could mean an marriage OR common law & Davis is the father's surname ?

Thanks Janice, this is great... Edna Mabel Trevis looks like it could be right as she was born on the 20(something) of July...(I cannot read it).

Regarding my father - his father's name was John Albert Sabell - clearly my dad took his mother's name.

But wonder why the surname DAVIS for Edna was on your dad's birth certificate ?

There must have been a reason

Not sure about the Davis on the birth certificate - clearly dad was born out of wedlock - both parents were present was the certificate was completed though..
