Hi
I am really struggling with very little info and not getting anywhere!!

I am seraching for William Walker, I have his marriage cert in which he married Margaret Harris in 1919 in St Pancras London, his age on the marriage cert is 28.
I think he may have been born in Scotland or the north east but cant be certain.
at the time of his marriage he is a captain in the royal army medical corp.
His fathers name on the marriage cert is also William and his father was a commission agent.
I have tried searching births but cant find anything likely.
I know that he died in the 1940s in Northumberland, there is a family photo of him holding my father as a small baby and he was born 1942 so his death was after this.
I know he had a daughter in 1921 who was born in India but can find no trace of this record ( people on here have tried with that one before!!)

Where do i go from here??
Any ideas??
Thanks
Julia

I am at a brick wall and dont know how else to search

What was the name of the daughter born 1921 in India? Might be worth another look.

Hi Flo,
I suppose it could be although his marriage cert says he was 28 in 1919 which means birth was more likely to be 1890ish

Hi Jean,
Thanks, that is the only passenger record i have seen which is even close however my Grandmother is sure she came back on a troopship named Nevassa and that she travelled with her parents around 1929/30

It just doesnt all seem to add up!

Julia Report 21 Jan 2009 13:09

Hi to all of those who have been helping, sorry i have been off the radar for a few days and not been able to log in to repply!

Jean- I dont think that can be her in the passenger lists-but it is the only one closer-I have tried searching for records relating to the troppship Nevassa but they dont seem to exist?

An9ie- there is no middile initial on the marriage cert so no help there
