Can anyone help? I am trying to find any details about an Alan Leslie Smith who was probably born between 1895-1915. All I know is that he was a mechanical engineer who worked in somerton, Somerset around 1935. He was married but had an affair with my grandmother, they had a child (my father Graham) who was born in Ealing where his birth cert. says they lived in Hastings Road, whether he left his wife or went back to her or died in the war I don't know - ring any bells with anyone?

That leaves 1906 and 1911 records as possibles!

The district Barton I. is an alternative name for Barton upon Irwell and it is in the county of Lancashire

I had also found an Alan Leslie Smith born in 1900 in Staffs and one in 1901 in Lincs so I have quite a few but really trying to find someone who is linked to that family as not sure where to go from here.
I did find that the one in W.Ham died in 1995 so maybe he should be my first one to start with!
