Find Ancestors

hi
i have been searching for the death registration for jane ranson
she was born jane postans to samson postans mother unknown in kent 1896
in 1943 she married my uncle john ranson in kent he died in kent 1949
i cannot find a death for jane which i believe to be 1977 -1982
aged77 to 82 years old
i have searched find my past .com
any info advice appreciated

Did she perhaps re-marry?

ive looked for a poss remarriage but nothing
i dont believe she remarried

Try widening your time-scale...................she may have died earlier or later than you are surmising

I've just been checking those years again for you, and on Ancestry when you open the Dec. qtr. of 1980 image it is actually showing you the September qtr. image, so she could be on the Dec. qtr.

The only Jane Ranson I have found up till then in Kent is this one (she's older but the date of birth could be wrong):-

Jane Ranson, date of birth given as 1st Feb. 1885
Dec. qtr. 1977, Bromley, 11, 1143

Remember the date of birth given in this record is 10 years out from what you said, so it might not be the person you are looking for - just a possibility.

I can't see a birth on freebmd registered in Kent for a Jane Postans

There is no record at all for the name Samson Postans

I wonder where you found out her birth details.................I assume the 'father's' name was on the marriage cert?

Just trying to ensure you get the right paperwork...................

yes i did get her fathers name from the marr cert
ive been looking at find my past for him but nothing as yet

Could Jane have been married before as she would have been quite old for a first marriage in 1943?

UPDATE - Ooops, just realised her father was a Postans so that must be her maiden name.

her marriage cert says she was a spinster aged 47 this was 1943

What leads you to think she was born in Kent? Is it possible she was born in Scotland or Ireland? It seems strange that no birth can be found for her and so trace of her father Samuel.

Does it say on the marriage certificate whether or not her father was deceased at the time of the marriage?

{my uncle was born & died in kent}

yes on her marr cert it states her dad was deceased at the time of her marr
his name is samson [not samuel] henry postans

Sorry David - I did know her father's name was Samson - don't know why I typed Samuel. Think I'm too tired to be looking at records at the moment, lol.

i must be getting tired ive sent a thread to the wrong board about jane and her poss birth place so if you spot it then its mine that should be on here
the thread reads as follows janes husband was born ipswich suffolk not as previuosly stated kent but he did die in kent & jane met him when he was a widow in kent & married him there
maybe jane is from suffolk areas ??
