Hi There,
I am looking for information on Florence Smith. She was the partner of William Ross or Bremner.
I have had a problem withthis one for many months now. My Gt Grandfather was William Ross born in Aberdeenshire in c1873. After researching the young william, I cannt find him with his parents on any of the cnesus report. The first that I find him is his marriage certificate in Glenbervie in 1903 and his parents are listed as William Ross, ploughman and Florence Smith, Domestic Servant. (No mention of them having been married at this point). On his death certificate, it states that his parents are William Bremenr and Florence, ms Smith. in 1956.
I would guess that Florence may have been born c1845ish and possibly in England, as she is not known as Florrie or Flora. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas as to how to resolve this I would be very grateful.Regards,
Lynda

Have you downloaded a copy of the birth cert? This will have written along the bottom of it the date the parents married, this is commonplace on Scottish Birth certs.
