The Brides Father was a leather worker, it is the Bridgrooms Father who is a FARMER.
Emmeline is her middle name of documents traced but on this marriage it is emily, but the address where she married from matches other documents,so it is correct.

Go the certificate and it IS
Irene Emily Fisher married to henry russell Key a farmer in Great Plumstead. married 1947!

So, thak you evrybody: now my firend has to decide what to do as we think she is alive ad widowed still living in Great Plumstead!

Found a marriage for MOYRA I KEY to RAYMOND G CARTER registered in ACLE December Quarter 1973:
Ref: 4b 1311

Not located her after this as yet?

Also located a BIRTH for a MOYRA I KEY born 1949 registered in NORWICH December Quarter:
Mother maiden name: FISHER
Ref: 4b 831

This looks like the daughter of IRENE E FISHER & HENRY R KEY who married in 1947.
Still think this Irene could be the one.

On the genes board with his family tree is a Paul Carine and he has in his tree Alfred Carine & Irene Fisher.
Irene Fisher born 1925 in Doncaster & Alfred & Family Channel Isles.
I have contacted him and am waiting for his reply, I have asked if his Alfred has the middle initial S and if he married in Gosport?
If he says yes, then you can count that marriage out as the Irene is born in Doncaster.
Waiting for him to confirm middle names and where they were married and will get straight back to you when he does.

There is a A.S.CARINE listed on ancestry telephone directories in the 1970s resident in Channel Isles.
Also many CARINE records in the Lancashire area and Liverpool.
Still think the other one seems more promising than this one in 1943, but could be wrong?

This could be the Right One or it Could be the one Born in Norwich either.
Would have thought this marriage was too close to when she gave her son up for adoption but you never know.

If the marriage in 1943 to Carline is Irene E Fisher she was married not too long after your friends birth, and the letters you refer too must have been sent when he was just a tiny baby in that case?
Does Gosport fit in with the area where the family were at that time?
You do need his original birth certificate really to see what information you can gain from that.
Obtaining the marrige certificate for Irene Fisher who married in 1947 will at least tell you if she was the right one or not, as it will give her Fathers names on it and maybe some witness signitures will help give some clues too?
Will take another look and see if I can see anything else that may help you.

I think we need to apply for a birth certificate as it looks as though Irene E Fisher married to Mr Key could be the local girl born Norfolk 1926 and not Irene Emmeline at all!

My friend has 3 letters from his birth mother when he was tiny and a fourth saying that she was about to be married. Don't know the date!

There is a marriage in 1943 between an Irene E Fisher and a Mr Carline in Gosport. Does anybody have any further thoughts on this please?

I think we have to wait for the Records Centre to open!

I wonder if her surname was originally FISCHER & her parents changed it ?

The Jewish adoption etc would then tie in.

Looked for an overseas birth for Fisher assuming her parent's were British ....nothing.

Not sure if the marriage is the right one as there is also a Irene E Fisher born 1926 in Norwich and this could be her marriage :O(

There is a marriage of an Irene E Fisher in Norwich in 1947 which might be worth investigating.

Irene E Fisher and Henry R Key
OND 1947
Norwich Outer 4b 1683

Unfortunately it's only initials for the middle name so you would need the cert to see if the E is Emmeline.
