Thank you all for the info I will order the full version of the birth cert and follow back fron there.Once again thanks Carol

Ericthered Report 8 Dec 2008 17:40

How does Carol know when he was born? She makes no reference to having found him on any census......nor to his place of birth.

I have to agree that she must get the birth cert for James 1907. Until she does, everything is speculation...................

Ericthered,

maybe another red herring as it was on the other thread that Carol had on the board.
James Hargreaves snr 1860 married Sa/eranne

ValT Report 8 Dec 2008 17:30

Found this on 1901 but she was born 1862
Serene Boyce born India in 1862.

Already married with several children in South London.

I think Carol should get the certificates of those she is certain of and take it back from there.
I personally have spent ages looking for people who finally turn up with totally different names from those family told.

ie Great Aunt Debbie turned out to be Emily Ethel..........

ValT

Ericthered

Ericthered Report 8 Dec 2008 17:27

Well, 1907 was the birth of the second child...........

BUT........where is the reference to 1860? I can't see it on this thread anywhere

Ericthered

Ericthered Report 8 Dec 2008 17:25

I would be wary about being 100% certain that the name by which the granddaughter knew this woman was accurate...........

The name Seranne does not appear on Ancestry on any transcribed records before 1984....and they are all births

ValT

ValT Report 8 Dec 2008 17:23

saw that one Ericthered put off by the granddaughter saying it was Seranne............

She must have been a lot younger than James (1860) don't you think to have had children as late as 1918?

Ericthered

WELL now........................
