Hi I wonder if anyone could help me I am looking for my husband's family from his grandfather we have got as far as that.

We have been told that he came from a gypsy or travellers family.

I have tried to find them on the censis but I think Ihave had now luck. my husband,s grandfather's name was Henry James Potter and he married Ella Mabel May Clark we have found out all about the Clark family but has drawn a blank with his grandfather's family we know that his great grandfather was also called Henry but other than that we are not sure.

I hope someone will be able to help is there a gypsy register somewhere where I can look up any info.

Thanking you all.

Hi Gwyn in Kent , Malibu and others for all your help. My husband and I have found out that his great grandfather was a navy and moved all around the country building canals and railways etc. We still are having problems finding anyone after his great grandfather but we think his family was named Sparror and we are not sure if this was a traveller's name or Gypsy.

But thankyou all for all your help you are all wonderful people and have helped me with alot of my family and my husbands.
