Find Ancestors

Great - have just found the first James' death reg. Sept Qtr 1851. That's that problem solved.

Hi everyone - this really is fantastic and I thank you all. Looking at 1851 and 1861 census - both have a James age 6, so I am presuming that the first James died sometime after 1851 another James was born.

I have been up ages and spent the time looking for James Malcher b. abt 1856 in Ashton, Northamptonshire. I have him on 1901 and 1891 census as follows:

I have searched and searched and nowhere can I find James & family on 1881 census or 1871 census. One of the above census returns had the family as MalSHer instead of MalCHer so I tried that combination too but no luck.

Has anybody got any suggestions for another name combination or could anyone offer help? Until I find James at home living with parents, I have no chance of getting further back. Thanks a lot.
