I have the B/C for my Nan who was born 1901
Her mums name is Sarah Lee nee ******* ( that's to cover her maiden name) But my Nans parents actually married 14 years after she was born, as she was the youngest of 3

They could of pretended to be marriage you didn't need to prove anything when registering your children

If you buy your grandfather's birth certificate it will tell you your G grandmother's previous surnames.

ie XXXX formerly XXXXXX nee XXXXX

This should give her maiden name & any other married/assumed surnames.

I know Sarah was not sure about the others but i know they went on to have 3 boys later on but i can not find a marriage to confirm who they are

I'am trying to find Edward John Williams He married Marie Benjamin (date unkown) they had my grandfather in 1931 (John Williams born Stepney) they were living in Ely Terrace Stepney London
