I've just looked at the census image for 1891.
I see that School House is next to The Rose and Crown pub.
If you do a Google search and click on IMAGES and put in Rose and Crown Old Romney, you will see that the pub is still there and in the picture the road sign shows that it was Old School House Lane.

This has a familiar ring.
I'm sure I've looked that up for someone on GR some time ago.
Try searching the boards for Old Romney messages. You might find a link.

Old Romney was and still is a small village on Romney Marsh on the Channel coast of Kent.
There are several old books about the Marsh so it's possible that there may be a picture somewhere in them.
I will keep a look out when I'm in local libraries.

Unless a concrete address is given with number and town its impossible to find if places still exists if you want to enrich your tree. I'd also love to get any old photos of my lot but they be an even harder challenge!!!

I didn't mean that you were asking the same questions but the info you had given was rather confusing, as I think people were looking for Lucy Toole, rather than Fairbrass.

It would have been much better to have posted the 1891 census as I did.

The address of School house does not mention either Stockbridge or Fairfield so I don't really know how that could be associated with it.

Yes there was a thread but I find out new things and have new questions!! they not repeats of old threads. I probably cannot know her address. I just thought it would be great to find a photo of her and a photo of her school and other such things linked to the 130 names or so I have on my tree. Perhaps I have an over active imagination and expect too much in my family tree data!!!

There was a thread running before on this family.

To clarify things, here is the 1891 census. All the above info was too confusing.

Where born: Plymouth, Devon, England

Civil Parish: Old Romney

Country: England

Street address: School house.

There is no mention of Stockbridge or Fairfield on the image.
