Where did James die? I can find 3 deaths in this name just in 1974.

Do you have a copy of the marriage cert which would also give a better idea of his age?

Sorry no certificates. James died in Kingsbury London area approx 1974

Thanks for looking but Albert was the father of James Albert Bennett or at least we think James' father's name was Albert but until I can establish where and when James was born we can't get certificate to prove father and mother names - really stuck, many thanks

H Jill, yes in 1916 to Elizabeth Spratley. We were hoping to find info on net for James Albert and his father Albert? without having to get certificates - very expensive from South Africa, thanks for trying Hilda

How much do they cost from South Africa? Do you use the GRO?

I thought the GRO charged £7 for a cert which ever part of the world it was delivered to

In SA Rands about 112 so look at it as if you had to pay UKSterling112 for each certificate and that does not allow for credit card exchange rate applied when billed - SA Rand extremely volatile - could be charged up to 120 so we need to get it right before applying - thanks for trying Luv Hilda

That seems really excessive! No wonder you're trying other avenues.

Have you looked on that certificate exchange site BDMshare (or something like that)?

There must be an easier way for you to do this ... thinking caps needed.

What about this one? He is a little older...but sisters are Maud & Mabel.
Also his father, being born in Suffolk, would have a very different accent to the locals.
