No sorry don't know her name,
maybe Michael wasn't his father just a close relative that he put down as his father on his marr cert??
Also my stepdad's pretty sure he was born L'pool as they wouldn't have had the money to travel back and forth to Ireland, but then again if Michael wasn't the father his mother could have had him in Ireland??!!
I guess we'll never know now

It says on the 1881 census that Michael was unmarried. Do you know what Thomas' mother name was?

Yes I think you're looking at the right 1881 Thomas wasn't there, probably with his mother I'm thinking. But I can't find his birth reg so can't look for mother.

I don't think it's them as Michael's occup was freight clerk on Thomas marr cert in 1909 not in the Theatre

It looks as if his occupation is something in the 'Theatre' (again I can't quite make out what it is)... so perhaps it isn't them!

I was told he was born in L'pool by my stepdad as Thomas was his grandfather. I haven't found his birth reg either.

His birth reg'n doesn't seem to be on freebmd...............what makes you think he was born in Liverpool? Have you some other info?

I've found this entry in the 1901 census .... I think the actual census says surname is 'Gorman'

I think it says 12 mths, but on the index it does say 12 .
The index has been wrong earlier in 1881 it says James and Patrick were married but on the form they were both single!
