I think you are right - Alice was born in London I believe - several other children including another Amelia

I think you might be running ahead a little bit.

It might be best to get a birth certificate of one of Robert's chiildren to confirm both parent's names.

Then look for their marriage. Then confirm them on the census.

Hope that makes sense.


PS Where was Alice born? were there any other children?

My suggestion would be to find and obtain a copy of the marriage record--you know that he married a woman by the name of Amelia. The marriage cert should tell you the name of his father.

Can anyone help with my great grandfather Robert (possibly mkiddle name Augustus) Lee think he may have been born in Allendale Northumberland in c.1875
also he married I believe Amelia - surname unknown in London ? I am really at a loss with this
