Hi im trying to find the parents of henry james bourton who was born 1858 in wootton bassett wiltshire, i think his father was charles bourton born 1836 wanborough married to caroline wirral but not 100% sure

No Henry here.

Maybe he was born William but he or his family used Henry.

That suggests that Henry was away from home in 1861 ........ staying with grandparents, relatives, in hopsital or ??????

Maybe while his mother recovered from the birth of Emma?

I've just checked for where they were born.

William in 1861 - Liddiard Millicent, Wiltshire
Henry in 1871- Lyddiard, Wiltshire

Don't know Wilts. Is that near Wootton Bassett?

Sylvia, there's no William in 1871 but Henry is the same age as 1861. Also Emma follows both William & Henry.

Liddiard/Lyddiard is in the parish of Wanborough which is in the registration district of Highworth.

No Henrys born in Highworth about that time.

yeah could be henry james bourton could of been away with relatives for the 1861 census but just cant find him anywhere locally sofar when i do a search

I still reckon William & Henry are the same person.

could henry of been born william bourton and christened with that name but later have it changed and have it showed up as henry when you look at his birth register in 1858? Because ive found a henry james bourton in 1871 census but shows as bowrton

Yes, I think so. The 1871 is further up this thread; Henry born in Lyddiard. Also possible birth index.
