Hello

I would like to find CWL Bracey because he was the witness to my parents marraige in Bristol in 1947.

I have a photo of him and can remamber him as a very happy jolly man.

Think he may have been a taxi driver at one time, and may have had a daughter Pat. His wife I think was either Vera or Nora

Hello Whippet lady

Well the marraige was in 1947 when my father was 25yrs (dressed in his RN uniform) and Len as he was known looks more like 40ish so that would put his b date at about 1907/8.

10 years too young.

On the other hand, how many men called CWL Bracey living in one citry can ther be?

I think it must be him.

On the other hand, his wife either Vera or Nora was born in 1902 or 1904.

Perhaps he liked older women.

Looks like I need a marraige do you think?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry I havnt a clue, only wish I could be more help.

Only other faint clue is Vera and Nora were both seperate people (sisters) called Jones from Bristol.

Got my fingers crossed.

Hello Andrew

Well so much for there only being one CW Bracey in Bristol.

I wonder where the L came from or went.

Have checked the cert (parents marraige) and its deff. CWL Bracey.

Thanks for the input.

Hello All

Things are never as simple as first they seem are they?

I was sifting through some certs putting them in some sort of order when I noticed his name and the thought hit me!

He may have been married to one of my grandfathers sisters!

Then I thought if I could find him, maybe I could find his daughter who might help with my research.

There are three women, Veronica, Madelaine, and Pat. but only two of them are his as far as I can remember.

Bracey isnt a common name, I thought, and with three initials.

Silly me.

Hello christine

If its of any help, I think CWL whoose wife was either Vera Or Nora Jones had a girl called Pat born in 1950/51.

She was born in Bristol but there was an older sister, who could have been 10 or more years older (1940/1) called Madeline or Veronica

Thanks for your help
