trying to find anything on a Thomas Taylor born c1862 in Newcastle/gateshead (I think) only other clue is father called William and he was married twice once in 1880 to Margaret Hind and secondly in 1891 to Hannah Smith

You say that the fathers name is William, how do you know this?
If it is from the marriage certificate then you should know his profession also, what is it as this will help find them in the census records?
