Richard Lascelles was my g-g-grandfather, born in 1830. He married Sarah Cornwell and they had a son Richard in 1857 born in Sydney Australia. Cannot find out where Richard senior came from. Richard Forrest Lascelles seems to be a family name. |

Found this one. He shows 1841 and 1851 but then disappears. He could always be mistranscribed. He was born in Pocklington. |

Thanks Astra, will keep this one in mind. Don't have anything more to go on. The information I have I got from the marriage certificate of Richard and Hannah Wilson. |

I'm amazed that Lascelle is a Yorkshire name. Over here in Canada it's definitely a French Canadian name. |

Thanks everyone for your assistance. Still nothing definite to go on, really need to find out how and when he came to Australia. Hoping he may have used his middle name, Forrest, as that would clinch it. I need to research his marriage to Sarah Cornwall, will get onto it! |

Yes, Richard was married to Susan Pike, 1881. Not sure what you mean when you say He/she is asking for relatives to contact? |

Hi again Margaret, I am BaiyerRiver (used to live in PNG). Sarah Lascelles was my Grandmother, married Austen Davis, and my Dad was Austen Cornwall Davis, I am sure these family names are just sent to confuse us! Found some good information on their deaths from Anne K on NSW Surnames - I had forgotten about an entry I made for Hannah Wilson and the info has been sitting there for over a year! |
