Have just had a look at 1861 cencus and it says Alice is a widow, but on Eliza's marriage cert in 1864 father is not listed as deceased????

If the Registrar did not ask the daughter if her father was deceased then it would look as if he was still alive on the marriage cert.

Have you found a death for Joseph?

no not yet, to be honest haven't looked yet GB.

I am about to send for Alice's death cert so that will tell me if she was a widow or not in 1866.
