The marriage cert only records the place of residence of the two who are marrying......not their families..........and, as Henry was 27, he may well have been living independently. |

I have the original marriage certificate - and the witnesses were a William Lucioni (Looks like) and Eliza Fitzgerald. Fathers names were Henry Taylor, deceased, and John Fitzgerald. |

You could always get grandads birth cert for mum and dads names. |

The father's name on the marriage cert is as given to the registrar/vicar by the groom........so if he only 'knew' his father as Henry, that's probably the name he would have given............ |

help would be appreciated. On my grandparents marriage certificate (1912) my grandfathers fathers name was Henry Taylor and he was a Hackney Carriage Driver from Bethnal Green, London. I can only find an Alfred and a William in the 1891 and 1901 census - Would Henry not have used his full proper name on the marriage certificate, could he have been a William Henry or Alfred Henry? |
