Thank you. I have downloaded the forms so at least that's a start. I shall wait to hear from my much older brothers and sisters to see if they have a better idea of time frames and things. Now you have pointed out his age, it does seem unlikely for WW2. It's quite difficult to sort out when you have very little knowledge of your grandfather, as he died when I was three, and trying to piece together my family tree, it makes me feel I know him slightly better. |

Grandad was born about 1895, so he may have been in the 1st world war. His name was James Thomas Chapman and he was in the Navy, that's all I know really, apart from the fact my sister had seen his medals, when she was younger. |
