Find Ancestors

I'm trying to find my great grandmothers husband. His name is Thomas Sartain. I have him as Thomas William Sartain but 3 other people have him in their tree as Thomas Edward Sartain married to Eliza Sartain nee Griggs
My father was
Herbert Thomas George Richardson born 15-Nov 1923
His Mother was Eliza Mary Ann Richardson nee Sartain born 11-Feb 1902 confirmed on birth cert.
Her mother was Eliza Sartain nee Griggs born 1876 and the father i have is Thomas William Sartain.
This conflicts with 3 other members tree that have Thomas Edward Sartain as the father.The strange thing is that these other members have the occupation of the father as Plasterer which i also have.
Eliza Mary Ann seems to be a mystery as none of the other members know anything about her but they have the same birth date as i have so she must be my fathers mother.

Also Thomas and Eliza appear to have 6 children including Eliza Mary Ann. Would it be possible for you to conform this. i know it's a lot to ask but i know nothing of my fathers side and am finding it a bit difficult to trace back.
Any help in progressing back from her would be much appreciated.

I have my fathers birth cert which has Eliza Mary Ann Sartain as mother in 1923.
From this i obtained the birth cert of Eliza Mary Ann Sartain 1d pg 951.
On this it states that the father is Thomas William Sartain and the mother is Eliza Sartain formally Griggs.
This is where i am confused because everthing points to Thomas Edward Sartain being the father

Yes I have! He has now entered Amelia. I can't find any of these people on the census. I can find Thomas 1851 with his parents but not anything else. My head is spinning!!

Eyeballs feel like they are on stalks with someone pulling them. Have to give up for now!

Have been contacted by two other people Ronald and Kay and Deborah. I think that the wrong name was given at the registration of the birth of Eliza Griggs son.

It is just a thought but do you know that George is dead? He may still be alive!! He was born in 1926 and that would make him two years younger than my mum.

A little more info for you Herbert as you have now entered Stephen Sartain on your tree.

These are all the details I sent to Kay yesterday. Hope it helps. After I sent it she said she had this info already but she had'nt got it entered on her tree otherwise I would'nt have spent the time looking it up. Anyway it may be of use to you if you have'nt already got it too.
