hi im looking for some info on joseph goodman. he was born around 1860c as he had my gg grandfather in woolwich london in1887. i have no idea of his mums name or if he had any other siblings or if he indeed came from london hinself as apparently the family is irish jewish?!! any help would be greatly appreciated as i dont seem to be getting very far with this at all!! thanks again! rachel

What was your gg grandfathers name? Do you have his birth certificate and if so, what was his mothers name?

Could this be the family?

This is a possible if the abopve birth is correct. Why do you think he was born March 1887 in Woolwich? If he was born March 1887 the above birth could still be correct if he was born towards the end of the month he could have been registered in the next quarter.

If you can tell us what Joseph's occupation was on the marriage cert it may help confirm whether this one is correct or not.

thank you so much!!! i went from some info that another member of the family researched and then got stuck the same as me!! on the marriage cert he is listed as a labourer. henry jnr got married in 1915 to clara rose in st johns church in woolwich. do you think the above is the right family?! thanks again to both of you for your help!

oh so this is probably the one! fantastic! does it say where joseph was born as we have laways been told ireland but im not sure as there seems to be a lot of stories about the family which i have found not to match up!

Well that is the only Henry J Goodman on the census with a father called Joseph.

How old was he when he married, would that match with him being born in 1887?

hey yeah it would i checked that. it says he was 28 when he married in 1915. ut everything else im finding is flitting between both 87 and 88! are the census and records really accurate or can they slightly fluctuate? thanks again! rachel
