Well, if a fathers name is not shown this would mean the child was illegitimate.

You say nan was betty hooton? Was she married to someone else, not Christophers dad?

If this man is the child's father, he has every right to access........whether he is named on the birth cert..or not.

Because your Nan wasn't married to Joe, Joe would have had to have been present at the registration for him to be inlcuded on the birth cert.

As for legal rights.....maybe Joe won custody of Christopher

Natalie Report 25 Sep 2008 22:25

sorry i have deleted it

i didnt realise he had rights i thought his name had to be on the birth cert.

i carnt understand why he has not signed it as he and my nana were together till christopher was 5

Sorry, we must have been typing at the same time

Is it possible he could have moved abroad or gone to prison. Have you tried an electoral roll search for him? Did anything specific happen 5 years ago when he disappeared and were you or the family in contact with him before he went?

Natalie

Natalie Report 25 Sep 2008 22:39

no joe took christopher when he was 5yrs old my nana just let him go.
none of the family speak of christopher or if they do its just lies because they dont want me to find him.
when ever i ask them anything they just say they dont no anything
my nana died in 1992.
i have just asked jean to do an electrol roll search for me.

Natalie....if you don't find him, there used to be a lady on here called Joan I think who used to help people find lost relatives. She used to have a thread on Tips. I don't know if she still does it but I could ask around for you

Well well,
I Hadn't realized that in order for the fathers name to be put on a certificate he had to be present, that probable explains why my father and his brother have no fathers name, but it dos,nt explain why his other brother and sister have different first names for their father and the same surname.

Could it be the same persons first name on one and his middle name used on the other?
