FATHERS NAME NOT ON BIRTH CERTIFICATE

please can you help i have recived my uncles birth cert back today and his fathers name is not on it there is just a line across it also my nana who was called betty hooton nee gillibrand has signed christophers birth cert as betty murphy how can she do that murphy is christophers dads surname. |

Well, if a fathers name is not shown this would mean the child was illegitimate. |

Because your Nan wasn't married to Joe, Joe would have had to have been present at the registration for him to be inlcuded on the birth cert. |

Natalie....if you don't find him, there used to be a lady on here called Joan I think who used to help people find lost relatives. She used to have a thread on Tips. I don't know if she still does it but I could ask around for you |
