could he have been in the Sedgefield area as he worked in the Winterton hostpital for a while . the william was a help also thankyou

you have got the right family ,maybe need the 1901 cencus .ive been told John Flatman joined the army and he was in both world wars ,he retired and was a chelsea pensioner.when he retired he worked as a warden in Sedgefield Hospital co durham . hope this might be of help

Sorry Ellamay but I don't seem to be able to find him in 1891

maybe in army at that time ellamay

That's a possiblity. He's not listed as one of the staff at The Asylum cos I've just looked
