I think THIS is your Martha in 1871...............in spite of the recorded birthplace, which is inaccurate anyway, as Stockport is/was Cheshire! |

This seems to be the death of the one who is on 1871 and 1881...........I'm not convinced she is 'your' Martha. |

David you are an absolute star, I can't thank you enough. I can now trace back to see if Henry married an Amelia and take it from there. |

Thanks David, it looks like she was living alone, I'm not too sure about her death but, many thanks for all your help. |

Hi David, Dids you find her on the 1871 census, I couldn't........if she died in 1873 that would make her 67, as you say the age is out by quite a lot, do you know who and where she was living in 1871 please. |

Hi again Ericthered, That is definately my Martha with her son Henry, so she was living in Bristol, so going back to David's message, she would still have been alive in 1851 and 1854.......must have died after 1861, is there that many dead Martha's after 1961? what do you think? |

Hi Ericthered, No she wasn't a widow, I think her husband left her as I know he didn't die until 1869 in the poor house, he was with her in 1841 but not in 1851. |

Thank you both for helping, in 1851 I have him aas living in the Clifton district of Bristol, so I guess either one could be correct, will send off for both unless I can get their address in 1851 from the census. |

I'm trying to find the death cert. for Marth Maggs. Born 1806. In 1951 she was living with her son William Maggs in Gloucestershire, I can't find her on the 1861 census although I can still find her son William. Can anyone help me please. |
