I have searched for ages looking for the death of Louisa Ewin
b1883 in Paddington. I found the birth of her 3 children in the 1920's their father unknown and since then she seems to have vanished.

Susan, where have you looked? If she died later than about 1927 you will have to trawl the complete untranscribed images, quarter by quarter, year by year for what could be many years until you find her.

I am a bit confused now if she got married to Albert Crowdy in 1918 why was the father absent i om my mothers birth certificate in 1923.

Could they have been divorced? I'm not sure that the record was the marriage of your grandmother. Do you have copies of the other siblings' birth records?

As previously mentioned, I can't believe that your grandmother would have begun to have children at the age of 37 and unmarried--is it possible, yes but unlikely.

there must have been 2 leslie ewin because we have photos of him as a desert rat in the war.
