Only one I can find who fits the dates is John Davies who was born in Rhoslianerchurugog who played for Rhos Athletic either side of playing for Wrexham where he made one league appearance in 1922.There was a Jack Davies b Chorley b 1902 who played for Bury and Swansea beween 1925 and 1928 . |

You could try the local newspaper of the area ...Reports of the match's etc. were as now always reported on...suprising what you can come up with....He may also have been known by a different "Christian Name" if there were others in the team with the same Surname...my uncle Edward Davies (Halifax Town) was known throughout his Footballing career as "Charlie"... |

Machynleth only won the Welsh Amateur Cup on two occasions 1902 and 1933 so that should narrow it down. Either contact the club who are still in existence or try to obtain a book published in 1985 by DW Davies entitled The Magalonians 100 years of Welsh Football 1885-1985.That should cover your relation in great detail because they havent had an awful lot to celebrate in the last 100 years apart from their two wins.Contact the library in Maccynleth they |
