I know that I am asking a lot now, but I am new to this family tree building (1 week to be precise) and have already asked for help from you guys. BUT my son who is 9yrs old has come home from school today ( we live in Cyprus and he goes to the International school here) and his homework from his History teacher is to do a family tree!! He has told his teacher that I am doing our family tree at the moment and to be honest I'm not really getting very far as I'm a newbie and not really sure how to do the lookups properly......you guys seem to do it in the blink of an eye! So I would love for him to go into school with his homework next friday and have the biggest family tree as he really wants to impress his teacher (she is his new History teacher) and what I have so far doeasn't go back that far and his teacher is really into history and dates and things like that. He would feel so proud, can anybody help me please or is it hard without having to have copies of certificates etc?? |

Ok - Always start with yourself - then parents - then grandparents. |

yes my grandaughter came home with that one . its part of the National curriculum. I just press a button and out it pops, a tree back to 1600s. But, and its a big but, what about the kids who don't even know their Daddy, doesnt that put them at a slight disadvantage? |

If you use a combination of census returns (1841 - 1901 at the moment, every 10 years) and what you can find on births. deaths and marriages, they aide each other well, to confirm names, dates, locations, siblings etc. |

I thought that might be your Walter's father,as first son's were named after dad,but might be barking uo the wrong tree. Did your grandfather have any younger siblings? The mothers maiden name is included after 1911. Eileen |
