omg...... Richard you were absolutely right.

My grandfather was indeed JOHN GEORGE FREDERICK BROWN, known as JACK, born 1910 and died 1949.
All my life i've thought he was called Richard. Than you so very much.

I have just found outh that my mothers mother's name was indeed Margeret EMILY Hayward, so the record posted could indeed be true and my grandfathers name may of infact been John and not Richard. I have also found out my nans birthday was March 1908.

Jacqueline,
You need to buy certificates.

Firstly get your mums birth certificate, this should give you her fathers full name.
June has given you the details to order this.

Once you have that certificate, you will know if the marriage details which Richard has given for your grandparents, are correct (or not)

If correct, then get the marriage certificate.
This will give you their fathers (your great grandfathers) names

Hi evryone

I would be grateful for any help in tracing my mothers family tree.
I'm afraid i dont have much to go on as my grandfather died when my mother was a young girl.
All i know is the following :

My mothers maiden name was Patricia Florence Brown d/o/b 14/09/40 Brighton East Sussex. She had a twin sister called Pamela, an older brother called Raymond Brown d/o/b 1936 Brighton, and younger brother called John Brown d/o/b 1948 Brighton.

Her mothers name (my nan) was Margaret Hayward d/o/b 1908 Banbury, died 1997 Brighton. Her fathers name (my grandfather) we think was Richard Brown but he was known as Jack. his date of birth was around 1908, he died at around 40yrs old.

As you can see i dont have much to go on at all so would appreciate any help anyone can give.

Yours hopefully
Jacqueline Read d/o/b 9/5/68 Brighton East Sussex..
