Thanks for the advice, I do know the address, I think the only way to find it will be eventually to go to the records in notts.

If that person present at the death knows an address, you could search electoral lists for that address around that time and see when he is no longer listed.
Remember lists are complied about October and published the following year.
The old lists are only available in the archives or main library local to the given address.

This would narrow the years for searching perhaps.

I don't suppose you can see when Georg Robert Carr (senior) died, I have searched for months looking for his death. I have spoken to someone who was there at the house when he died suddenly and she thinks it about 1950 and it was in nottingham. I have spent hours on ancestry in the library. am I right in thinking the the library edition does not have the full indexes.

When George Robert Carr married in 1903 he was aged 32 and a widower. I am wondering if the marriage in the March quarter of the 1895 index could be him,. Would it be possible to find out who the first wife was and any details where they married. In the census in 1901, he is a widower with a 5 year old boy. thank you for any help
