Hi Elizabeth. I too found the correct birth . East Ward. Westmorland.

1881 census
William.32 Born Coathill. Westmorland. Cow Keeper and milk seller
Jane. 30. Born Gaisgill.Westmorland
Margaret. 9. Born Gaisgill
John H. 7 Born Gaisgill
George. 5. Born Gailsgill.
LIVING 56 Fairview Place. Toxtewth Park. ???:Liverpool.Lancs.
I hope this turns out to be correct. The birth certificate should say if parents are William and Jane, then we can search for their marriage and ancestors. Ethel.

I am trying to find birth certificate information for my grandfather John Henry Chapman D.O.B. 21.06.1873 born in Gaisgill Westmoreland. I sent off for birth certificates without doing enough research so consequently have two incorrect ones. If they match anyone's searches you are welcome to email me and I will pass them on.

One is for John Chapman D.O.B. 25.06.1873, parents John and Ellen (nee Lewis), registered in Worsley, Barton upon Irwell, Lancaster.

The other is for John Henry Chapman D.O.B. 25.03.1880, parents James and Elizabeth (nee Stockton), registered in Saint George, Barton Regis, Gloucester.
