Trying to find James Taylor snr

Hi,
I have my Great Grandparents wedding certificate but it doesn't really help me trace the grooms parents. The father is listed as James Taylor a deceased painter, he's the father of another James Taylor born about 1874, married to Rosa Allen on 15/07/1899.

Thanks in advance

Alan.

Alan have you tried to trace James junior back......I think he is living at 70 colne Road, Twickenham, Middlesex in 1901 with rosa and a baby Albert.

He says he was born 1875 in Teddington, Middlesex. If you trace him back you might find the family

There's quite a few James Taylors in Middlesex .. with the father James ...in 1881 ..and I don't know the area.

If you have the name of the groom on your wedding cert you can look through the families until you find him.
Jean ..... sorry.. just realised the groom was James

Jean,
Yes I found that record, but James Junior's Marriage certificate has James Senior as 25 in July 1899, making his birth between July 1873 and July 1874. Also my mum has no recollection of a brother Albert to her mum Emily Elizabeth Louisa Taylor b 1909.

Thanks Alan.

Albert has middle names with the initials G.W. - could he have been called by a middle name.
The James Taylor who has young Albert is a plasterer's labourer, born Teddington.
I've tried lots of James with a father called James who is a painter but am having no luck at all.
Any clues in the names of the witnesses to his marriage ?

There is another James and Ros(e) Taylor who have a son Frederick, aged 1 and they are in Staines, Middlesex.

Hi, the witnesses are all siblings of the Bride Rosa Allen. They are Louisa, Emily and Walter Allen.

Rosa has 7 siblings in all that I have, its going back through James Taylor's that's causing me the problem.

Thanks Alan.

Thanks Rachael, I wish they would use middle initials. If your find is correct, I wonder why the 'A' wasn't on their marriage certificate?
