Any census results for Edward Pearcey please?

Edward Pearcey is on the 1901 census with wife Charlotte, both born circa 1840 and living in West Ham. Edward is born in Camberwell Surrey and is a Cooper, Charlotte is from Bromley by Bow/Poplar area (maiden name thought to be Everett). I would love to see if there are any earlier census results for this family with details of their children (I am particularly interested in Ann Matilda Pearcey born Poplar, 1864) or possible parents for Edward.

Many thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Hi Helen

I think it says Mother on the census and it has been transcribed as that.

Indeed!

Does anyone have any info' on Edward Pearcey before his marriage please? It looks like he was married in West Ham in 1860 but it'd be interesting to see if any records of his family (poss back in Camberwell) exist..

Helen

Helen Report 22 Aug 2008 13:30

Umm, and now I can't actually find any probable marriages for Caroline even though she appears ot have at least 3! I will have another go with varieties of spellings.

Update - found Charlotte Everett to John Thompson Dec 1845 but no Pollard/Everett marriages...

EDIT: Don't worry about this search, I will list this seperately from here as rather getting away from the Edward Pearcy thread, easily done!

Hi Helen

Just to say I did look for Edward Pearcey/variants on the 1851 census, but I could not find one that really seemed to fit the bill. May need his father's name from his marriage certificate.

Thanks Couldbe, I think we may be coming to a certs stage, having trouble with the 3 marriages as well and beginning to think at least one might not actually happen, need the dad's records for those as well.

Thank you very much for all your help!

Thanks Christina, yes that would certainly fit, Charles is even a Cooper, the same as Edward was to be later in life and it would make sense where they were living as this is the area Edward married.

Thank you for looking this up.
