i just been told my grandmother was born in 1902 in camberwell london.she had 7 silbings,julia,edward,louise,florence,abraham..thats some off them.adraham was a japanese prisoner off war.he did come home to his wife.julia died at the age 34 in birth.emma died at 39 nine months after having my mother.my grandmother name was emma jane sartain.we lend to beleave that her father was from german.i dont known the parents names .i hope any one can help.please thank you.

could well be because my grandmother sister was a florence sartain.all the people we could ask like my mum and sisters have died also.we know the childen were born in camberwell.i cant find my grandmother bith cert any were.thank you for your help.

another lady just came up said she had a jane sartain in her tree.gone to anwer its not there now do you know why things get delated on here.

Do you not have any birth certificates to confirm parents names?
If you don't, it would be a good idea to order at least one as that would give you parents names including mothers maiden name.

You said at the very beginning that your grandmother Emma Jane was born in London -but there is an Emma Jane Sartain b Jun Q 1902 in Portsmouth -her grandmother Amelia was also born there per 1891 census above so is this not a possibility?

just to let the people know that have been help me trace my grandmother emma jane sartain.i got her married cert to day.it says that her father name is thomas edward sartain who was a plasterer.so may be he might be the husband to eliziabeth giggs.i am now just waiting for emma jane birth cert.eliziabeth family did come from portsmouth.so may be for some reason emma was born there and the rest born in camberwall.i have find someone that has thomas sartain in there tree.but does not have emma.thank you for ever one help.with out you people i would not know any thing about my grandmother emma.my mum would have been happy that we traceing her mother family.thank you once again.once i got her birth cert i can start the rest of them.

just let everone know that i got my grandmother birth cert today.it shows that her parents were thomas edward sartain and elizabeth sartain.she did have brothers and sisters.i got to try and find out about the porthsmouth family.the griggs.now.i can start putting my grandmother family tree to gether now thanks to everone that helpped me on this site.thank you once again.
