Find Ancestors

Looking for my GG Grandfather,
David Hoare born around 1860 in Tadley, Hampshire. (According to census)

I have found him on the 1881, 1891 & 1901 census but cannot find him at all before that, was hoping to find him younger to possibly find out his parents.

Cannot find his birth either

I know he married Louisa (maiden name unknown)
& had 5 children.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure if Goodchild is the maiden name,

I received David & Louisa's daughter's birth cert this morn & it has her maiden name on there but cannot work out the hand writing!

Had a few people look at it but no one can work it out!
It begins with Ba.... but cannot understand the rest !

When were the children born? When do you think the marriage took place?

then followed by David 1895

This is all info from the census.

As for the marriage I have no idea!
On David's 1881 census he is an able seaman on the HMS Malabar and he is registered as age 21 -single. So i gather he married after April 1881 but before 1891 as he is with Louisa & Mary on this one and stated as Married.

I will order his birth cert & will probably order one of the other children's birth certs to see if Louisa's maiden name is clearer on there, that's if Chrisa cannot work it out from the scan I send her.

Just to update Chrisa had a look at the scan and has suggested it could be Baker, so I will take that route until the other child's birth cert (hopefully with better handwriting!) arrives to confirm the maiden name!

I think it is the same family in 1871 that I posted after 1861 - the birth place of the father is the same and I think this is the family in 1851 prior to the mother;s death

If the surname is unusual it helps to search an individual census just on the christian name, age and birthplace. This can help with mistranscriptions

Thank you K for finding that death for me, I wonder whether if she died in child birth??

So in the later census where Eliza is named , I guess she is the new partner of John and she already had a daughter Agnes?? hence the step daughter?

so I wonder if John & Eliza married as Eliza is stated as a Hoare?

Will have to see if can find a marriage.

I wonder if they had any children??
