Hi, William Evans (sgt.) born 06/01/1927 from burnley married Mabel Olive Dearing born 1929 in hornsea yorkshire and had 7 chidren, the youngest being my dad settled after 21+yrs touring the world with the army in Oswestry Shropshire.

I have absoloutly no idea about his (William Evans) parents and any relatives (although have been told most went to australia) and even his wife (my gma) doesnt know much (or enough) about them.

I am going to try her for a marraige certificate or something but when i went through what she had i dont recall seeing it (although it wasnt the at the top of the list i was searching for) and she didnt say anything about it but then she could have just forgot.

Any help or advice would be most appreciated. Cheers. Tim.

Do you know the date of the marriage or can you estimate it from the birth of the eldest child?

langdan lass you could be right i remember the name mosely coming up when i talked to my gran. I will have a closer look through your info though. cheers very much. I think my gran was 18 when she got married as for the oldest son he is about 60 wich would tally. cheers a lot. Tim
