My grandfather was Frederick Thomas Tuffnell (1900) he married Constance Maud Annie Richardson (1903). I am looking for Frederick's ancestors. They originate in and around Bedford (Wilstead) and I believe they could have been Blacksmiths by profession. |

Then, if you do not have access to 1901 census - come back again and ask for a 1901 lookup for him - he may be easy enough to spot. Mind you, once you have his birth cert you will know mum and dad's names and can find their marriage and you'll have more info - so you'll be able to ask for 1901 and earlier ... |

Strange that you knew about the Blacksmith angle, but can't look up a birth on freeBMD. |

Another family of Tuffnell/Tuffnail blacksmiths, both father and son share the occupation. Sadly I still can't find Frederick and his family. |

I am sooooooooo sorry about this. I had no idea how to get your replies. Not sure if you have access to my tree but if so you will see that I am not getting there - I have the Tuffnells back to the point where the name changed from Tuffnail to Tuffnell. |
