Hi i am trying to find information about William Mc Gee. All I have
is my mum's birth certificate. William lived in Maguire Street liverpool3. He was a marine fireman. He married Ada Swift.no other details apart from my mum was born in the workhouse. 144a Brownlow Hill Liverpool. her d.o.b. 21st April 1910. Can anyone help please.

what was his father name ? - will be on the marriage cert to Ada. Where and when did he marry her? ( assuming Ada is your grandmother)

born 1838 is going some to have a daughter in 1901 - am i understanding that correctly?

Yes Ada was my mum's mum according to the birth certificate

My mum had a brother John and a sister Mary. My mum's name was Margaret

what makes you think he was born then ( or there even?)

Mum's date of birth was 21st April 1910

Yes you said in your first post - it makes her father ' on the old side' if he was born 1838 - why do you think he was born then?

when were John & mary born? were they older or younger?

Birth certificate gives mum's father as William and Mothers name as Ada Mc Gee. Maiden name Swift

Sorry am new to this .Mary was the eldest John was middle n Mum was youngest.sorry no idea when they were born. Guessing Mary was born 1909 and John 1913

there is a Martha McGee whose MMN was Swift born in the right area at the right sort of time , ( as well as numerous Mary's)
