To be honest with you i would start again and confirm it with certificates.

Just to let you know my 2x Gt/Gmother said on the 1891 that she was was Widower but her husband was in fact living back at home with his mum and claiming to be single lol

The 1891c details you have are correct for my John, sorry I don't know how to post the census details as yet. Just tried to find a death for Reuben between 1891 and 1901 as she said she was a widow then but nothing.

I thought when i looked at the image that Samuel was a Clarke and not a Charter...so did some digging and found this

Just to let you know that the reason i put the 1891 on was to show that maybe that marriage was for John Harper & Sarah White and not John Harper & Mary Gurdon/ Gordon

If you check the 1881 for that John he is Single

I definately know John William Harper was born 1864 in Cleethorpes and that he said he was married in 1891 although he was not living with her at the time, all the dates for Mary Harper on 1891c and children seem to fit, and in 1901 she says she is widowed and John Died 1892. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, what do you think?

I haven't found her birth index but on 1891c and 1901c says birth 1863 Hull, can't even find Samuel.

I think it should be Mary Gordon....but i would get that marriage cert to find out for sure who John Harper married

Ok..now the reason i asked is there is a Sarah in the same qtr and this is the 1891.......& John is single & with his parents in the 1881

I know that John Harper born 1864 died in October 1892, and MI reads husband of Annie, as I couldn't find a marriage for Annie I assumed that wasn't her name. The details I have on children are 1st one born 1884 and last one 1889. I have John on 1891c living with his grandfather William Mackrell, so that explains why he isn't with his wife then. I know it sound likes I'm clutching at straws, but since researching my tree gut instinct has always seen to have paid off when others have thought otherwise.

How do you know that John married Mary seeing as they are not on the 1891 nor 1901 together

Hi Reggie, I have access to Ancestry and am thinking her surname is incorrect, and also can't find a Samuel H Charter, tried lots of different ways to find her and him, just wondering if I've missed something that someone else might pick up on.

I have a Mary Ann Gurdon marry John Harper 1883 Sculcoates, on 1891c Mary Harper born1863 Hull living Clee with Weelsby with three children, on 1901c she is widowed living in Sculcoates a brother is on their Samuel H Charter? Can anyone help finding her prior to 1891.
