Hi, i am trying to help my nan find her birth mother my nan was born Margaret Anne Smith May 1942 in Westminster and her birth mothers name was Violet Mary Smith, Violet was not married when she had my nan, so Smith would of been her maiden name this is on her birth cert. it also says that Violet was born in Lincolnshire. My nan remembers someone claiming to be her grandma tried to get contact with her through her school when she was 10, a meeting was set up in a park, but the police where invited by the social to attend the meeting and the lady claiming to be her grandma never showed up. My nan believes they came from a place called Twenty, Bourne, Lincolnshire. My nan is very interested to find out where she came from and her mother could possibly be alive. I know Smith is a very common name but if anyone can shed any light, all help is welcomed
Many Thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
I am also searching for a Violet Smith, who was my fathers birth mother, my dad was born in 1937 and he has a sister called Yvonne born in 1935, who i am also searching for. Just wondered if you had any luck finding Violet and if there was any connection to Essex, the surnames Nancolas or Acott.
Kind Regards - Lisa
