just spoken to mother in law she can confirm that the maiden names are shaw and bateman,
going to troll through more as she is quite insistant that there was a queenie, and that is her given name! and she married an alf renshaw,
also stanley stanton aldcroft married twice second wife dora gormley.

He could have been. The only way to find out is to order the birth certificate for stephen stanton aldcroft. The time of his birth will be stated on the certificate if he was a twin.

This is the only way you are going to get complete confirmation of parentage.

i asked my mum in law, she says he was not a twin, could it be a possibility that steven stanton aldcroft could have died at birth? therefore she may not have known about him, it does seem unusual that they both had the unusual middle name of stanton, both born in the same year, quarter and area!
