Hi,
On ancestry I can only seem to find Irish censuses for county antrim in 1851 and I haven't got back that far. Does anyone know where I can find the Irish census records?
Please help,
David

I've found information about my other ancestors from england going back to the 18th century, but I can't find any information about my Irish ancestors. Do you know of any sites I could find out any information about them? On here and on ancestry it only seems to have censuses for england, scotland and wales. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
David

I'm afraid I don't know. My mother wrote the book about 15 years ago when she was still alive. She just put he had emigrated but it must have been quite a while ago if she didn't know the children's names although she did know he had had children so that suggests about 1930s 1940s if he was born around 1900 like his sister Lucinda.
Thanks,
David

Are there censuses for Ireland? Where can I search for them?
Thanks,

They were born in Monaghan, Ireland. Lucinda Isabella was born in Ballybay and her daughter Lucinda Elizabeth was born in Clones. Lucinda married John on 28th April 1920.

Hi,
I'm trying to find out more about some of my ancestors. My grandmother was called Lucinda Isabella Chapman, born 1899, died 1942. She married John Gray and had three children, one of which was Lucinda Elizabeth, my mother. Lucinda Isabella Chapman had nine siblings:

Samuel - killed in the Battle of the Somme, aged 18.
Joseph - emigrated to USA
Anna - possibly had two sons in the USA - unsure of this, my mother filled it in in a book, but this could be Joseph or Anna, she crossed over the lines.
George - bachelor
Margaret - no family
William - married Lily and had Gladys and Bobby in New Zealand.
Amelia - married a Norman Sixsmith I think and had at least 2 kids - Vera and Violet.
Sophie - died aged 21
Robert - married Harriet and had at least the following children - Esmond, Robert, Wesley, Wilbur, Lily, Lucy and Maud.

I was just wondering whether anyone could help me find more information on these chapmans - ie. mother and fathers name, maiden name of mother, who children married, whether they had any children etc.

Thanks, hope somebody can help.

David
