Hi Lindylu, I think my great grandparents stayed in Ireland. I dont even know how many brothers and sisters my grandfather had. I know he is in the Census of 1901 as a single man of 29 and I think he was married in the Cambuslang area near Glasgow but cant find any proof. His wife went on holiday with my father back to Ireland and as far as I know she died there around 1930 - I just dont know where to look next |

Did they remain in Ireland or were any of the children born elsewhere? |

I'm trying to trace my father's line. Patrick Hughes was my Great Grandfather. He married a Mary Rielly - I think in Ireland. One of their children was my grandfather Edward Hughes (born 1871 and died 1955) who married a Catherine Cox. They in turn went on to have the following children. Mary(known as Minnie) Rosina(Co born 1905) Elizabeth (Cissie) Edward (my father born 1918) Pat (twin of Cissie) Margaret (Meg). Any help would be appreciated. Regards Cathie |
