as you rightly noticed ...... this is a very old thread, and LouT may well no longer be checking.

GR does not notify people of new messages on threads


May I suggest that you send her a pm (personal message) ........ just click on her name, write your message in the box, then click Submit.


GR will then email her to say that there is a message in the internal system.


Then all you have to do is hope that she still has the same email address that is on file with GR.

this is a very old post and you have probably found what you wanted by now, but my great grandmother's sister married Ernest Augustus Mackrodt in India in 1896. they had a daughter Yolande Margaret Mackrodt b1901. are these people related to your family?

It seems a very rare name for the UK (at least spelt correctly perhaps).

There is one that could have been a namesake (fathers brother perhaps).

Ernest's death is registered on Ancestry his dob 10.11.1909 - do you know his father's name as some of the soldier's WW1 are listed on Ancestry and I will take a look for you. Irene

I am trying to find any information on Ernest and his dad who we believe were in the army posted possibly in india (his father possibly in WW1 and Ernest possibly in WW2)
