I remember trying to work out where my gr grandfather was in the censuses. There were 3 men of that name all born about the same time and same place. Nightmare task. I found the easiest way was to find all of them in all censuses and eliminate the ones that weren't mine. I used stickie notes on a large sheet of paper. Took a couple of hours but it was worth it and eliminated the confusion!
