Find Ancestors

I'm trying to trace Margaret Mahoney who was a nurse of 6 Garden St, Darfield Yorkshire in 1937. Does anyone know if there was a hospital of some kind at this address and how I would go about tracing records on this?

ok i live near there and husband works at darfield just be looking darfield up, there was a nurses home but on barnsley road i do some more checking for you i could allways nip over and have a look i wait while he comes home from work. 1937 is not really that long ago loux

I remember some years ago visiting a relative on Nanny Marr road, which changes to Garden Street. I think number 6 is a dentists but not certain, can remember the betting shop on the other end of the road, this would have been about mid 1990's so not sure how acurate it is for yourr quiery.

lorriane hubbie dont know but he ask his mate at work he comes to talk to him at garage and lived there all his life hes in his 70 so could know fingers cross eh xx

Margaret Mahoney went into an unmarried mothers home run by nuns in Reigate Surrey, where she gave birth to my dad. Not sure if the birth cert is telling me she was a nurse at garden st or that she just lived there. Was thinking maybe it was a hospital with church connection. Someone must have advised her to go to the home in Surrey.

husband got in from work .old man didnt come in to day anyway .2mar i have a ride over there after kids swimming lesson and c what i can find out and talk to some olders you never know ,and call in garage .not sure to find history out be i have i look round could be a book on darfield louisex

just look on ebay yeh someone got a book on darfield/wombell am near libery 2 marr so while am there i c if book in you never know .has i bought an history cd of mexborough and could not beleive it my husband g grandad and step g grandmother was sat out side the house where they lived but we had no photos of them ..fingers cross could be something xx

hi yah got book from libery nothing in it just a brief where bus stop on garden street,order another book they gonna phone me when it comes in thats old photos on darfield you never know .went up to day its a dentists like martin said took a photo it looks like it was a house befor ,ask at local papershop they didnt know said it allways been a dentist anyway went to butcher as that across road he said thought it could have been an house in 80's then someone turned it in to a dentist so that fits in with what martin said .i keep fishing i think she lived there looking at the building louise xx

got book from library they phone me this morning so picked it up on way home from school nothing in really theres one picture of an motor car and driver a mr franc noble it says possibly garden street where the photo was took .i still think the house is where she lived .old man came in garage today says it dentist now he too says it was a house..sorry not really helped much i think she was a nurse and lived there and possible worked in the village louisexx
