Andrea, the address you need to get the service records is Disclosures Section, APC Glasgow, Kentigern House, 65 Brown Street, Glasgow, G2 8EX.
It does cost £30.00 and your aunt will need to sign as his next of kin. It can take a while as they have been very busy due to all of us trying to trace our ancestors.
There is a website or you can go to the SPVA, that stands for the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency site. That will give you a phone number you can use to contact them.
If you are interested in the medals he won SPVA also run the medals office.

You could send off for his service records. Your aunty would have to sign the form (as his next of kin) and they cost £30 but are well worth it, I have my grandads.

Hi Sam

It is the one who died in 1945 and was a sargeant in the RAF can you get any other details about him. Thanks alot. Andrea.

Sam

Sam Report 14 May 2008 21:38

There are only 3 John Samuels that died in WWII and none in 1940.

One died in 1944 age 21, he was in the Royal Tank Regiment and came from London

One died in 1945 and was a Sargeant in the RAF

One was Australian.

Do any of these look likely?
