Hi everyone,

Im trying to find possible birth details or census details for my g/grandfather. He changed his name when he enlisted in the Australian Army, but information I just received from his daughter indicates that his birth name was Cleo Lequiose (obviously lots of potential spellings, this is the one I was given) and he gives his birth place as Iroquois, Canada, and was born somewhere between 1880 - 1895 (a big time frame I know). The story goes his mother was French Canadian and his father was American/Canadian Indian.

If anyone can help me, by pointing me in the right direction for where to start looking, I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Thankyou.
