Hi Janice yes they are all part of the Finch family and Susan Finch is transcribed in the 1841 census as FURCH no her marriage record does say who her father was . So Janice do you think her mother might have been the Elizh age 68. Thanking you all

If her marriage entry gives a fathers name,,in the PR's for a bapt match.......... she could have been bapt as,,,,,

Susannah,?

as Wethersfield was just in the boarder of Essex and Cambridge,,could she have been born Cambridge but grew up in Wetherfield,?

1812 / 1813 was the time when the format changed for recording baptisms.

I have searched high and low for an ancestor in Hampshire who stated he was born in Beaulieu about that time, ...but no luck....over 10years looking !
I've wondered whether he was not entered into a new book for some reason.

Was your person married, ...or remarried.. after 1837 so that you at least have a father's name to help your search?

If you know her parents names..or spouse, have a look on* FamilySearch .org*

but births wasnt registered then,,only a Bapt was recorded, which may be just that a record and no parents named,,,

Sam Report 13 May 2008 09:33

There is also a small possibility that she was never baptised.

Or she may have been christened somewhere else. Sometimes mum's went to their parents' home for the birth of their children.

Or she just thought that was where she was christened as she lived there from a very young age.

Ozi.

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 13 May 2008 08:46

sometimes families had one big christening for all their chilldren so she may have been baptised a long time after her birth. with her younger siblings

Good Morning I was wondering why a birth record does not show in the County Archives for 1813 I have been touch with the Essex records to see if they can see a birth or baptisim for a Susan Smith born 1812-1815 in Wethersfield Essex and although they found her marraige could find nothing on her birth. Wonder where else I could look for it thank you
